If you are fifteen to eighteen years old, play varsity or junior varsity baseball at your high school, and are serious about competing at the highest level of summer baseball, then Cedarbrook Angels Legion ball may be for you. American Legion baseball is the top level of summer youth baseball in the country. Because our teams often combine several school districts, attract players from private school and often have freshman college players rostered, the level of play can exceed that of varsity high school ball. Yet, it is not unusual for JV players to break into the starting lineup of some of our teams.
Some individuals are afraid of the commitment required in American Legion ball or just want to have "fun" in a less competitive league. Although our teams' 30 to 35 game schedules are more than you'll find in Babe Ruth, Connie Mack or Little League, and you may not bat 500 for the Angels, but you will be challenged in a way that will improve your game. You will play with teammates who are being recruited and scouted by college and pro coaches. You will read about your team in the Montgomery County Record and the Times Chronicle. You will play in alumni games against former Angel players who have had college and pro experience. You will receive instruction from coaches and manager who have years of experience not only on how to improve you game, but on how to use your athletic talent to be admitted to the college of your choice. There are opportunities to participate in tournaments, playoff games, post season play, all star games, showcases and fall ball. Finally, if you do decide that you want to take your game to the collegiate level, and your prospective college coach asks where you played American Legion Baseball, you will be able to tell him. He won't be asking about any of those "other" leagues.
